
Mr. Marwah, 70, of Toronto, Ontario is the former Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Scotiabank. He retired from the bank in 2014 after 35 years of service. During his tenure with the bank, he served in various executive positions, including Chief Financial Officer. In 2016, Mr. Marwah was appointed to the Senate of Canada. Mr. Marwah currently serves on the Board of Directors of George Weston Ltd. and Cineplex Inc., and previously on TELUS and Torstar Corporation. He also served as the Chair of the Hospital for Sick Children and the Humber River Regional Hospital.
Mr. Marwah holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Calcutta, a Master of Economics from the University of Delhi, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Ryerson University and from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
