Onex Partners is our flagship private equity investment platform. Onex Partners focuses on large-scale, value-oriented acquisitions of leading businesses based in North America.
Onex Partners I started in November 2003 with $1.655 billion, of which $400 million was committed by Onex. Onex Partners I was substantially invested by November 2006, with 10 completed acquisitions. At September 30, 2011, the Fund had achieved a gross IRR of 80% and returned 4.2x invested capital since inception, based on realized and publicly traded investments.
Onex Partners II started in August 2006 with $3.45 billion, of which $1.4 billion was committed by Onex. At September 30, 2011, Onex Partners II was approximately 85 percent invested, with more than $2.9 billion of capital at work in seven investments. The Fund had acheived a gross IRR of 25% and returned 2.3x invested capital since inception, based on realized and publicly traded investments.
Onex Partners III started in December 2009 with $4.3 billion, of which $800 million was commited by Onex. To date, Onex Partners III has completed four acquisitions with $1.8 billion of capital invested.
The Onex Partners team has approximately 30 investment professionals and is supported by a team financial, legal, IR and tax professionals.
